Introduction
Welcome to the homepage of the Athlete Data Anti-Doping Research
Group at the Department of Anesthesia, Bispebjerg Hospital, Copenhagen.
We always seek to be at the frontline of development within anti-doping
research as well as implementation of anti-doping work and strategy.
We are dedicated to provide the newest technology and knowledge
in the effort to stop and eradicate the usage of doping within sports.
Our goal is to secure the health of the athletes as well as ensuring
honest and clean competition that we all can enjoy and applause.
The anti-doping result database is based on the experience of blood
profiles obtained in elite cross country skiers since 2001 with
input from medical anti-doping consultants in athletics and cycling.
The database handles all doping test results analysed at WADA accredited
laboratories including blood profiles and it is thought to replace
the numerous numbers of selfmade often excelbased databases.
This database is sought to include all relevant anti-doping statistics
and algorithms that automatically will be updated with a single
tab on ENTER after every new laboratory results have been inserted.

How the database works
The database is build up similar to a medical research database
following the guidelines of "Good Clinical Practice" (GCP),
i.e. there is always full logging of events and there is always
kept a complete track of changes of data, i.e. full "data history".
Entry of data into the database is concentrated on a very high data
validity, i.e. every precaution has been taken to minimize the risk
of typing errors or data ambiguity. A bit cumbersome, but essential
for the use of the database, e.g. when legal measures have to be
taken.
Evaluation of blood and urine samples are made easy through
the implementation of scientific validated algorithms as well as
clear graphical presentations.
Typically privileges are given to users, so that doping control
officers (DCO's) can enter, but not, view data. The medical advisers
will be able to view, but not enter, data. This minimizes the risks
of data corruption.
